In 1966, COPETAO's offshore drilling campaign was launched. At the end of March, the "Ile-de-FrancePays FranceShow more" platform leaves Dakar to take place 250 km south of the Senegalese coast. An impressive 10,000-ton unit, it can drill down to a depth of 60 metres.
