Team work and team spirit are driving us

Published on June 21st 2018
I started working at LOR in 1990, 28 years ago, as an operator. I am now a shift controller in one of the shift teams. I have been particularly proud of my team as we have been through an adaptation process at LOR over the last two and half years and been faced with a lot of challenges.
The most extensive challenge for my team was the additional training to FIT the Refinery adaption plan for the future in a relatively short period and this required a lot of self-motivation and support/guidance and this would not have been achieved without Team work and team spirit.
I chose to participate to the bicycle ride from Killingholme to Paris to commemorate the refinery’s 50th anniversary. It was also to help the Lincolnshire Air Ambulance charity whose intervention 2 ½ years ago was crucial to save my friend and colleague Steve Cook
