He joined the CFP in 1955 and was assigned to operations outside the Finance Branch. He was then put in charge of control in the Finance Directorate in 1958, and in 1966 became Deputy Financial Director until 1974. Managing Director of Total CFP (Libya) in 1969. Director of COPETAO, Société française des combustibles liquides, and SEHR.
