Pierre Michaux - General Secretary of Elf Aquitaine

Born on 1 January 1920 in Hestroff (Moselle). College of Phalsbourg, Faculty of Letters of Toulouse. Degree in Literature (Philosophy), National School of Administration (1947-1948). Civil administrator at the Ministry of the Interior (1948), deputy head of the office of the Minister of Industry (1951-1954), head of department at the Fuel Directorate between 1956 and 1959. Then he was chargé de mission in the office of the Minister of the Armed Forces (1959-1961) [Pierre Guillaumat, then Pierre Messmer]. Secretary General (1961), then Deputy Director General (1964-1966) of the UGP (General Petroleum Union), then Secretary General of ERAP and Elf Aquitaine (from 1966 to 1985). Director of several Elf Group companies. His career followed that of Pierre Guillaumat, whom he trusted. His files are an irreplaceable source for the history of the Elf Group from 1961 to 1985. He died in 2005.
