Born November 25, 1925 in Bordeaux (Gironde). Lycée Longchamp and Faculty of Law of Bordeaux, Law Degree, Graduate in Public Law and Political Economy, National School of Administration. Auditor at the Court of Auditors (1951). Seconded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Director of the Office of the Secretary General of the Tunisian Government (1953). Lecturer at ENA and Sciences Po. Referendum Counsellor (1956). Assistant to the Director of Fuels to the Secretary of State for Industry and Trade (1957). Director General of SN Repal (1962-1966). Chief Executive Officer (1966), then Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Union Générale de Distribution de Produits Pétroliers, which became Elf Distribution in 1967; Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Elf Union from 1968 to 1973. He played a leading role in the merger of the network's brands under the Elf emblem from 1966 to 1967. Chairman of the Management Board of EMC (Entreprise minière et chimique) (1973-1983). Director of Tessenderlo Chimie, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EMC Belgium (1977-1983). Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CDF-Chimie (1978-1983). President of Chamber at the Court of Auditors in 1987. Councillor, then President and Honorary President of Asteo (Interprofessional Grouping for the Exploitation of the Oceans). Vice-President of the Commission for the simplification of formalities (1991). Vice-President of the League Against Cancer (1997). Died December 24, 2002.
