Chief Executive Officer (1966), then Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Union Générale de Distribution de Produits Pétroliers, which became Elf Distribution in 1967; Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Elf Union from 1968 to 1973. He played a leading role in the merger of the network's brands under the Elf emblem from 1966 to 1967. Chairman of the Management Board of EMC (Entreprise minière et chimique) (1973-1983). Director of Tessenderlo Chimie, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EMC Belgium (1977-1983). Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CDF-Chimie (1978-1983).
