Creation of the French oil distribution company in Africa

The mission of the French oil distribution company in Africa, or CFDPA, is to distribute and market petroleum products in the countries of French Equatorial Africa, French West Africa and Cameroon.

Created in 1947 by the Compagnie française des pétroles and its French associates (Desmarais Frères, Lille-Bonnières and Colombes, SAPM, Société française des carburants), the CFDPA initiated the deployment of the Group in distribution activities on the African continent. Africa thus offers new outlets for oil extracted in the Middle East that the French market cannot fully absorb.
